Vale is looking for startups developing innovative technologies that can help reduce or eliminate the use of anthracite and natural gas in pelletizing and agglomeration processes. The initiative is being led jointly by Vale's International Prospecting (Innovation), Climate Change, and Decarbonization Solutions teams and aims to identify solutions that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining operational performance and product quality.
Areas of Interest
Vale is interested in technologies that can partially or fully replace fossil-fuel-based energy sources used in pelletizing operations, including but not limited to:
- Alternative thermal energy solutions
- Low-carbon or carbon-neutral fuels
- Process electrification technologies
- Energy efficiency solutions
- Emerging decarbonization technologies applicable to high-temperature industrial processes

Eligibility
Startups of all maturity levels are encouraged to apply. There are currently no minimum TRL requirements for this opportunity.
Selection Process
Vale will review submitted solutions with its technical teams and identify the most promising opportunities for further evaluation. Selected startups may be invited to: Participate in a pitch session with Vale teams Engage in technical discussions and solution assessments Explore pilot opportunities in Vale operations or laboratory-scale testing environments
